Following its successful sold-out season opener on Valentine’s Day, Charleston Music Fest will present an exhilarating two-day extravaganza on March 13th and 14th.

The weekend program of musical fireworks in spring is a tradition in the popular chamber music series co-founded and co-directed by a pair of acclaimed musical powerhouses and professors at the College of Charleston: violinist Lee-Chin Siow, first prize winner of the 1994 Henryk Szeryng International Violin Competition and cellist Natalia Khoma, first prize winner of the 1990 Belgrade International Cello Competition.

Here's the lineup:

The weekend features two complementary programs - Masterworks on Saturday, March 13 at 7:30 p.m. in the Recital Hall of the Simons Center for the Arts, 54 Saint Philip St. and Familiar Favorites on Sunday, March 14 at 4 p.m. in the City Gallery, 34 Prioleau St. Each features some of the most demanding masterpieces of the classical repertoire, as well as spectacular showpieces including Handel-Halvorsen’s Passacaglia featuring Siow and Khoma, which was the first piece that both performed together at the inaugural Charleston Music Fest concert four years ago. Guest artists include Tomas Jacubek (violin), Jan-Marie Joyce (viola), Vagram Saradjian (cello), Beatrice Long (piano) and Volodymyr Vynnytsky (piano).

Tickets are $25 per person for each concert and reservations are strongly recommended. For tickets, call (843) 953-0935 or email charlestonmusicfest@gmail.com.
