“If she loves you, then she doesn’t love me.  This is the story.” -the artist

“She Loves You” is local artist, Kenton James’ debut solo show at SCOOP Studios with the opening reception on Friday, March 19th, 5 to 8 p.m. James will be painting live in the gallery the week leading us up to the opening show starting on Tuesday, March 16th.  You are encouraged to come and see his progress and talent. The artist has a special gift for each of the lucky visitors that will rock.

The story arc of “She Loves You” reads like a study of relationships flashing by in black and white frames: the intentions, the expressions, the emotions, the conflicts, the resolutions. Kenton James’ sparing use of color in his newest collection of oil paintings introduces a dimension of focused solitude and ghostly calm. Look for what James reveals, and also hides, in the faces and actions of his subjects.

Kenton James captures the intricate details of complex human relationships in this alluring exhibit, covering the teasing lure of the sensual, the anxiety of chance, the complications of silence, the defeat of goodbye, and at what we all hope will be the splendor of reunion.

“She Loves You” will be on display through the end of March at SCOOP studios. Gallery hours are Tuesday - Saturday 10 a.m. - 5 p.m., Sunday and Monday by chance or appointment. The exhibition and opening reception are free and open to the public.

SCOOP studios is located at 57 1/2 Broad Street and can be reached by telephone at (843) 577-3292.
