Great Scot! It's time for the annual Charleston Scottish Games and Highland Gathering (update: photos)

Break out your kilt and bagpipe, gather up your clan and head out to the the 39th Charleston Scottish Games and Highland Gathering this Saturday at Boone Hall Plantation.

The Charleston Scottish Games is home to one of the largest piping and drumming competitions in the Southeast. Professional and amateur athletes from across the Southeast will be on hand to try their might in the Sheaf Toss, the Stone of Strength competition and the Caber Toss.

In addition to the expected sporting competitions, throughout the day there will be Scottish dances, children's activities, Border Collie demonstrations and Scottish merchandise and cuisine for sale. Live music will be provided by Coyote Run and local favorite The Bograts.

Unfortunately, online ticket sales have ended, but tickets will be going for $20 for guests 13 and up and $5 for children 6 - 12. Gates will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
