Free 'Music on the Green' series enters final month

The final month of the free concert series, Music on the Green, will conclude with several local favorites from original Lowcountry blues to Motown and country.

Happening on Fridays from 6 to 9 p.m., the final concert will take place August 31. 

The PGA Championship will be taking place the week of August 9 through 12 on Kiawah Island, so no concert will be held on August 10. Numerous events are scheduled throughout the week at Freshfields Village, so check the online events calendar for more information.

The line-up for August includes:

  • August 3-Travis Allison Band: This rock and roll group plays the best of classic and contemporary rock, plus Motown and oldies.
  • August 17- Shrimp City Slim: Creator of “Lowcountry blues,” Slim returns to the stage to perform his Carolina originals.
  • August 24- Bradford Station Band: Watch this blues duo perform Motown, rock, blues and more.
  • August 31- Men of Distinction: Enjoy a high-energy performance from this 7-piece band as they play Bach, rhythm and blues, soul, country and swing.

Food and drinks will be available for purchase. Guests are encouraged to bring a blanket or beach chairs.
