Don't miss the heavy hitting drama 'A Lie of The Mind'

Theatre Verv is midway through their run of Sam Shepherd's "A Lie of the Mind," and from what I've heard, this heavy adult drama is a force to be reckoned with.

Told in three acts set in the gritty American West, the story involves two desperate families connected by the marriage of the son of one (Jake) to the daughter of the other (Beth). The story alternates between the two families after a severe incident of spousal abuse leaves all their lives altered. Exploring family dysfunction and the nature of love, the play follows Jake as he searches for meaning in life and Beth and her family as they struggle with Beth's brain damage.

A Lie of the Mind is the winner of the 1986 Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Play, 1986 New York Drama Critics' Circle Award for Best Play, and 1986 Outer Critics Circle Award for Best Off-Broadway Play.

Theatre Verv has three more performances scheduled for March 10th, 11th, and 12h at 8:30 p.m. All performances will be at the South of Broadway Theatre in Park Circle.
