CFW vets team up for a fashion show benefitting Surfers Healing

Charleston Fashion Week veterans Emily Bargeron and Megan Waldrep debut their Spring 2010 Collections at Folly Beach's newest hot spot BLU on Sunday, March 14th. Surfing the Runway will feature two eco-friendly fashion shows, a silent auction, signature cocktails, gift bags, and giveaways.

To put the cherry on this fashionable cake, 100% the proceeds from the event will benefit Surfers Healing; an autistic foundation.

Intrigued? Here's more:

Surfers Healing brings professional surfers to Charleston to teach autistic children surfing skills as a form of therapy. The Surfers Healing Charleston Chapter has hosted this event for the past 2 years and hopes to raise enough money to continue. "The surfers displayed their experience and understanding with the disorder throughout the day", said Lorri Unumb, who works with the research and advocacy group Autism Speaks. "They've worked with a lot of kids with autism and know what to do," said Unumb, whose 8-year-old son Ryan has autism. Ryan authored South Carolina's "Ryan's Law" that requires state-regulated insurance companies to cover autism treatment.

All it takes is $20 to change a life. Your $20 donation to Surfers Healing will allow you to mingle with Charleston’s most charitable fashionistas, watch two CFW veterans debut their Spring Collections, sip on 10 Cane Rum’s specialty cocktails, participate in the silent auction, and you will be eligible to win tons of filled with local goodies.
