The Moja Arts Festival, the 11 day celebration of Caribbean and African-American culture, is back and festivities begin Thursday, September 24.

Running from September 24 through October 4, Moja is one of the city's most culturally significant and educational event of the year. Festival events range from dance, literary arts, music, lectures, visual arts and more.

Opening ceremonies start with a Caribbean street parade Friday night beginning at 5:30 p.m. The route starts at Marion Square and ends at the Custom House. Stick around at the Customs House for the reggae block party following the parade.

While that event is a shoe in you'll be left wondering what else to do. Well, you can dive into their Web site, or be lazy (smart?) and just check out TheĀ Charleston City Paper's "must sees."

If you want more general info on the festival, head over to the paper'sĀ article on all things Moja.
