Potlikker Film Festival comes to Charleston with food, films, and fun

On the eve of the Charleston Wine + Food Festival, Wednesday, March 2, the Southern Foodways Alliance is setting up at McCrady’s Restaurant in downtown Charelston.

The group will be offering their cultivated parings of Joe York-directed films and John Simpkins-crafted words about Southern culinary traditions along with drinks, the bass drum stylings of Mr. Jenkins, and foods from Sean Brock of McCrady’s and Husk, Robert Stehling of Hominy Grill, and Sarah O’Kelley of Glass Onion.

Among the items served will be exotic specimens like squirrel gravy and oyster-flavored beer from local Coast Brewing.

Tickets are $50 per person and include food, drink, music, films, and even a shot at a door prize. Available by advance purchase only. Buy tickets here.

Update February 24: Charleston Scene has their own preview that offers a bit more of a narrative; read it here.
