Lowcountry Grits Festival (updated)

Update April 21: The Boathouse/Carolinas' was chosen the "Best Grits in Charleston" by attendees. They're located at 10 Exchange Street in downtown Charleston.

First reporting:

Enjoy grits, drinks, music, and games at the Lowcountry Grits Festival on Sunday, April 19, from 2 until 8 p.m.

There'll even be a "grits toss" and eating competition. It's $10 and is at Bowens Island.

Here's the rundown from their Web site

"Best Grits" competion between several local restaurants including The Boathouse, Bull Street Gourmet,Carolinas, JPaulz, McCrady's, Triangle Bar and Char and Lost Dog Cafe'.

All attendees will be invited to sample all of the different grits and vote for their favorite. The winner will receive a trophy to display in their restaurant. 

Other food selections will be available for purchase from several of your favorite Charleston restaurants.

A selection of wine, beer and other refreshments will be provided for purchase.

Come enjoy the view of the water down at the dock on Bowens island. The food is great, the beer is cold, and  The Coppertones will help you relax and make the most of a perfect Sunday!
