Update March 25:  Media was offered a sneak peek (and free lunch, booyah!) at Mellow Mushroom Avondale this afternoon, and posted above are some photos taken inside the new spot.

Creative director Carl Janes outdid himself on the wall art, the design team went all out on the seating and bar area, the sound system is night club quality and the food was on point. 

Oh yeah, did I forget to mention there is an enormous mural of Sean Brock of Husk dressed as King Charles, holding a pig? The whole thing really just speaks for itself.

But if that's not enough, the Charleston City Paper has some words too share too.

Update March 21, opening soon: The Post and Courier is reporting that the new location is due to open Monday, March 28.

And that gets the opening in just a few days before the Cooper RIver Bridge Run target. Congrats to them.

First reporting June 23, 2010: The owners of Mellow Mushroom Charleston, Joshua Broome, Michael Shem-Tov, and Johnny Hudgins, signed a lease to expand Mellow Mushroom to West Ashley.

The new Mellow Mushroom will be located at 19 Magnolia Drive in the Old Ashley Theater.

Owners expect to open the new Mellow Mushroom at the beginning of 2011.
