Pure Gifts, Mt. Pleasant’s specialty gift shop with a commitment to keeping it local, is   stocked with original, artisan-crafted products and sources merchandise from primarily Southeastern U.S. designers that specialize in handmade or eco-friendly  products.

In celebration of the store’s opening this past December, Pure Gifts will host an Open House on Saturday, January 22nd from 10 a.m. to 7:00p.m. Shoppers will receive 10% off any purchase, while an additional 10% of proceeds will benefit the Center for Women.

As part of an ongoing program, Pure Gifts will host local Charleston artisan, Margaret Hansen of Ecolibrio, as the January Featured Artist of the Month. Hansen will demonstrate her jewelry-making technique during the Open House, showcasing her eco-focused jewelry and handbags made primarily with recycled computer wires, cables and combined with vintage chains and beads. Light refreshments will be provided throughout the day’s event. The store will host monthly events to showcase artists and their particular craft, helping the community to appreciate the time and craftsmanship required to produce handmade goods and wares.
