On Sunday, March 3, Park Circle's Madra Rua Irish Pub will celebrate its tenth anniversary with a customer appreciation party.

Kicking off at 6 p.m., the party will feature food and drink specials (all drafts will be $4.50 – the original prices when the pub opened in 2003), giveaways (including a trip for two to Boston provided by Sam Adams) and lots of great memories being shared about the last ten years.

“Our goal at Madra Rua was to create a small piece of Ireland here in the Lowcountry: from fresh authentic Irish food to the proper 20 ounce pints, soccer and rugby on the telly, and an atmosphere and design that made you feel like you were back in the old country. We didn’t realize back in 2003 that so many people would appreciate the philosophy of Madra Rua, so we sincerely thank all of our patrons for their support over the last ten years” said Pub co-owner Stephen O’Connor.

Even North Charleston Mayor Keith Summey is big supporter of the pub. “A decade after opening its doors, Madra Rua has become a fixture as the area's most authentic Irish Pub. Owners Robert Spencer and Stephen O'Connor grasped our vision for the Park Circle area early on and have been a key component in its revitalization, drawing patrons to our community and taking a key role in events and festivals for our neighborhood families” said Summey.
