Filmed in and around Charleston, "Little Red Wagon" opens this month (Update: Review)

Filmed in and around Charleston, the film "Little Red Wagon" is opening in Charleston on Friday, October 19 at Regal Palmetto Grande Stadium 16.

Little Red Wagon is based on the story of Zach Bonner, who as a 6-year-old in 2004 collected 27 pickup trucks full of supplies such as water and tarps in his wagon to help neighbors hit by Hurricane Charlie. He then established a foundationto help homeless kids and distributed 400 backpacks full of school supplies. Now 12, Bonner has raised more than $1 million and has begun a “March Across America” to raise awareness of the plight of homeless children.

The film is directed by David Anspaugh ("Rudy" "Hoosiers") and stars Anna Gunn ("Breaking Bad") and Chandler Canterbury ("Knowing").

Update October 17: The Charleston City Paper's Isaac Weeks has penned a review of the film and which can be summed up to: don't waste your money on seeing this flick.

Even though the film has a great cast and an experienced director, the heart and quality of the project falls flat.
