The Children’s Museum of the Lowcountry (CML) will be open on Monday, January 17th from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in celebration of the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday.

Lowcountry families are encouraged to come enjoy crafts, activities and a parade!  Not only is it School Spirit Day where students can wear their school colors and receive $2 off admission, but families can also see the incredible Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. projects created by third grade students from Dianne O’Neill’s class at Ashley River Creative Arts Elementary School.

The exciting day will begin with the craft Dream Clouds at 9:30 a.m. followed by Dream Puppets at 11:30 a.m. and a Dream Parade at 3:30 p.m.  Children are also encouraged to create pieces of our larger-than-life “Quilt of Dreams” which will continue to grow throughout the month of January in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.  All events and activities are free with Museum admission or CML Membership and are recommended for all ages.

The mission of the Children’s Museum of the Lowcountry is to spark a love of learning in all children through interactive, interdisciplinary hands-on environments and experiences with the arts, sciences and humanities while fostering creative thinking and problem solving skills and a belief in their own potential.
