Watch top films and documentaries from across the world and discuss the programs with the filmmakers at Best Of Input 2011, sponsored by the South Carolina Film Commission

Best of Input is taking place this Saturday, October 8th, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Trident Technical College's North Charleston campus.

The workshop is free and open to the public.

Best of Input is a professional development event for independent filmmakers, public media producers, students and others interested in learning more about trends and techniques in production. Participants will view and discuss some of the most thought-provoking public broadcasting programs from around the world, and from a variety of genres in film, television and the web.

Featured program-makers will join the discussion via Skype, giving attendees the opportunity to speak first-hand with some of the world's most respected media producers and filmmakers. Professionals in public television who help fund and distribute programs will also speak in person, providing information on getting similar projects broadcast.

The screening and discussions will begin at 9 a.m. on Saturday in The Nursing Auditorium (Room 791, 920 Building) on Trident Technical College's North Charleston Campus (7000 Rivers Ave., North Charleston, SC).
