The first-ever Lowcountry Soul Food Festival was quite the success.

The Charleston City Paper's Stephanie Barna hit the samples hard and has reported back on all that you may have missed this weekend.

Go take read.

First reporting:

It's hard to believe this hasn't happened before, but on December 1st and 5th, loosen up your belts for the first ever Lowcountry Soul Food Expo.

North Charleston's Village Hall has been selected at the venue for this two-day event that promises food tastings, exhibits, produce and meat markets, family activities and door prizes.

Advance tickets are on sale now for $5 each at local soul food restaurants or by calling (877) 589-7755.

The Charleston City Paper has a solid post on how the Expo came to be and what all to expect; read it here.

If you plan to attend, the Village Hall is located at 1012 East Montague Avenue.
