The second annual Lowcountry Field Feast event that honors all things local, from landscape to produce to seafood, is back in action on Sunday, November 14th.

The farm fieldtrip and family-style supper will take place at Rosebank Farms, located out at 4455 Besty Kerrison Parkway on Johns Island.

From 3 until 8 p.m., James Beard Award winning Chef Mike Lata of FIG restaurant will be cooking up an unforgettable supper featuring all local product, most of which will be sourced from the gardens of Rosebank and waters surrounding the property. Sidi Limehouse and Louise Bennett of Rosebank Farms will serve as hosts for the Lowcountry Field Feast, and the dinner will take place in their backyard by Haulover Creek. Local bluegrass band The Bushels will entertain guests as they take farm tours and sip signature cocktails from Firefly vodka.

All proceeds will benefit Lowcountry Local First’s sustainable agriculture program, Farm Fresh Food, which serves to increase the availability of local, sustainably-produced products for chefs, grocers, and consumers through an increase in the number of locally-based farms and farmers, and to provide greater access to land suitable for agricultural production. The 2009 Lowcountry Field Feast, which took place at Keegan Filion Farm in Walterboro, raised $3,500 for Lowcountry Local First.

Tickets for the event are $125 and seating is limited. For more information about the Lowcountry Field Feast or to purchase tickets over the phone, call (843) 853-9120.
