The Citadel sweeps C of C at Riley Park

On Saturday night, The Citadel clinched a sweep over the College of Charleston with a 7-0 win in front of 1,917 at Riley Park.

The Citadel (34-20, 20-10 SoCon) handed the Cougars their first shutout in 174 games – and the first Bulldog shutout of the Cougars since 1926. With a 20-10 mark in league play, the Bulldogs can finish no lower than third. The Cougars finish out the 2009 regular season 35-20 overall record, 17-13 in the Southern Conference.

The Bulldogs return to action May 20th in the first round of the 2009 SoCon Baseball Championship at Fluor Field in Greenville, S.C. will face sixth-seeded Appalachian State at 1 p.m. on May 20. The Cougars will take on sixth-seeded Appalachian State at 1 p.m. The Cougars will face fourth-seeded Western Carolina at 9 p.m. on May 20.
