The relatively new bar has recipes for both hangovers, and their recoveries. Shots, draft beer, cocktails are served late, early and alongside tater tots, corn dogs and biscuits and gravy. And if you need something to stimulate the brain, hop on one of their arcade games or some try some trivia questions.

The Recovery Room is laid-back, simple, and though not quite a dive it's not exactly not a dive. Dine inside or on one of their picnic tables out front. Smoke in the back area.

The bar was opened by former Moe's Crosstowner Chris Boston. The Charleston City Paper quotes Boston as saying: "We're Gene's Haufbrau meets Big John's Tavern, in a former private black club."

Open until 2 a.m. seven days a week. Open at 4 p.m. on weekdays, and 11 a.m. on weekends. Get happy hour from 4 to 8.
