A tweet from Samantha Kite (@spkite) informed us this morning that word on the street is MTV is filming their show "Buckwild" in the area.

If you don't know (or care) "Buckwild" is a reality show that features an "outrageous group of childhood friends from the rural foothills of West Virginia who love to dodge grown-up responsibilities". Yet another show highlighting only the best of 'Merica. 

We've done a quick scan of Buckwild's cast members' twitter feeds (which is an exercise in sanity at 9:00 a.m.) and have found no mention of Myrtle Beach. 

Of course Myrtle Beach is the home of another "reality" gem that shows off and glorifies the 'redneck', hop on over here and here for our coverage of "Welcome to Myrtle Manor". 

Update 9:55 a.m: A Facebook fan, David Zimmerman, shared that he  MTV was filming at the 544 location of SOHO last night, January 10th.

Further, SOHO 544 had a Facebook event for "Ladies Night and Reality Show Taping" that they obviously didn't promote too well
