The Coastal Carolina University's Women in Philanthropy and Leadership group received a $25,000 grant from the Wal-Mart Foundation to continue their work in providing scholarships and empowering women to pursue leadership across all disciplines.

Women in Philanthropy and Leadership has chapters in universities across the country.

As reported by WPDE, the money will be used to fund student leadership workshops, support Elect Her, an initiative that empowers women to run for political office, and increase global awareness of women's issues.

To see the group's mission, vision, and goals, you can access them on their website here. You can also connect with the group on Facebook.
