First Report: Support AAF-CC's Student Outreach and Public Service Efforts by Participating in our 3rd Annual Online Auction.
Summer may be winding down along the Grand Strand but your Coastal Carolinas Chapter of the American Advertising Federation is just gearing up for another big year of giving back to the community.
Through our continuing education and charitable support programs, year after year AAF-Coastal Carolinas supports area students in their pursuit of related careers as well as creating and implementing public service campaigns to aid local non-profit organizations in need.
With your help and contribution to our AAF-CC Online Auction, we can continue to serve our community by sharing our skills, creativity and energy wherever needed. The bi-annual AAF-CC Online Auction is a popular fundraising marketplace in which donations of all kinds, from media, printing, consulting, entertainment packages, gift baskets, gift certificates and so on, are available for purchase by the general public. You do not need to be a member of AAF-CC to donate or to buy.
For insight into why participation is so important to our success, the following are just some of the ways these auction funds will enable us to assist local students:
• Scholarships for students pursuing a career in advertising and/or marketing
• Job internships, shadowing and mentoring programs
• Portfolio review days for local colleges and universities
• Reduced AAF-CC fees for students
• Programs to introduce grades 6-10 to the possibilities of careers in advertising
Furthermore, some of our local community organizations who have benefited directly from these efforts over the last few years include: Myrtle Beach Haven, Coastal Samaritan Counseling Center, The Waccamaw Community Foundation, A Father's Place, Street Reach, Horry County Humane Society and South by Southeast.
The 3rd AAF-CC Online Auction is scheduled to go live Saturday, November 5th, 2011 and end Wednesday, November 16th, 2011. Winners can pick up items at the meeting on Thursday, November 17th, 2011 at our November Lunch and Learn Program.
