Read with the truculent trees at Target

Target stores have teamed up with The National Education Association (NEA) for Read Across America.  

On Saturday, February 25 at 11 a.m. all Target stores will present Dr. Seuss Storytime: Reading of The Lorax .The storytime reading also includes free goody bags and activities for the kids. To help with NEA's Read Across America, Target is also offering big discounts on all Dr. Seuss books - some are 2 for $20, while others are 2 for $10.

This is part of Target's pledge to give $1 billion to support education by the end of 2015

NEA's Read Across America is Friday, March 2, 2012. What is Read Across America?

The National Education Association is building a nation of readers through its signature program, NEA’s Read Across America. Now in its thirteenth year, this year-round program focuses on motivating children and teens to read through events, partnerships, and reading resources.

NEA’s Read Across America Day, NEA’s national reading celebration takes place each year on or near March 2, the birthday of Dr. Seuss. Across the country, thousands of schools, libraries, and community centers participate by bringing together kids, teens, and books, and you can too!

Also, on March 2, the big screen version of The Lorax will premiere staring voice talents of Taylor Swift, Zac Efron, Betty White, Danny DeVito, Ed Helms and Rob Riggle.
