Update 10/5:  Jim Berry, Myrtle Beach High School’s head athletic trainer, has been reinstated after a suspension for posting derrogatory comments on Facebook (see the back story below).

Berry's suspension only applied to his trainer duties and lasted for a month during the Horry County Schools investigation into the matter. The Sun News has a few more details here.

First Report: Myrtle Beach High School wrestling coach Patrick Fischer was relieved from his duties because he posted a comment on another MBHS teacher's post that was critical of the school's principal.

The teacher that made the original post was suspended from his athletics trainer duties but kept his job. According to WMBF News, Fischer used Principal Nona Kerr's initials in his comment. On the surface, it doesn't sound like a firing offense but there could be much more to the story we simply don't know.

In related news, Facebook unveiled several new features to their social networking service and Myrtle Beach local Brian Carter published the fastest and most comprehensive overviews of the new features I happened to see. Read that here.
