Update 6/6: In our first report below from a few weeks ago we reported on North Myrtle Beach's free swimming lessons being offered this season, but there are some other free or cheap swimming lessons in the area too.

WMBF News has a write-up on the NMB swim lessons and in it they mention cheap lessons for those out in Florence that'll be held at the The Florence Family YMCA. Classes are for kids ages 5-12, hop on over to WMBF News for the details. 

Additionally, The City of Myrtle Beach is offering swimming lessons from $25 to $58 dollars, depending on age and if you live in the city limits. Classes meet Tuesdays and Thursdays for four weeks and are being offered at Pepper Geddings Recreation Center. First Report 5/23: The North Myrtle Beach Aquatic & Fitness Center is offering free swimming lessons to people ages five years and older. 

The lessons will be available June 4th to the 8th at the Aquatic Center and will teach participants the introduction to basic swimming and water safety. Instructors will teach skills such as, floating, treading water and being comfortable in the water. 

Participants may select from one of the following class times: 5:15 p.m.-6:00 p.m., 6:15 p.m.-7:00 p.m., or 7:15 p.m.-8:00 p.m. Pre-registration is required at the Aquatic & Fitness Center.
