Search continues for downtown bank robbery suspect

On Tuesday morning just before 11 a.m., a man robbed the First Citizens bank on the corner of Meeting and Calhoun streets.

Despite the location being in such a heavily trafficked area, the suspect was able to get away with an as-of-yet undisclosed amount of money. No weapon was drawn and nobody was injured during the robbery.

Camera footage from inside of the bank depicts the suspect as a white male in his mid to late 50's, about 5-foot-3, and reports state he had a lesion on one of his arms.

As of this morning, he's still at large. Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call Charleston police at (843) 577-7434 or Crime Stoppers at (843) 554-1111.
