A Belgian Blonde takes the Charleston 'Iron Brew' title; Buy the beer soon

Wielding the common ingredient of honey, some 60 home brewers came out to sport their styles at the Iron Brew challenge.

Second place was "Risen Dead Brewery", "The Johns Island Misfits" to the People's Choice spot, and "Yeast Affection" earned the  "Best Brewery Name".

But coming in first place was "Stein Hoist Brewery" with a Belgian Blonde Ale style.

Chrys Rynearson of CHSBeer fame was, expectedly, on site and has a slew of photos to see.

The winning brew will be up for sale in a couple of weeks at Holy City Brewing, Mellow Mushroom Avondale, and Mellow Mushroom Charleston.

The event was held in North Charleston at Holy City Brewing. Look for the event to return next year.
