CCU makes News & Report school rankings

The 2013 guide to the nation's top schools is out from U.S. News & World Report, and Coastal Carolina makes regional rankings. 

Coastal Carolina University has been ranked #63 on U.S. News & World Report's 2013 guide in their 'Regional University South Rankings' category. CCU also ranked #29 on their Top Public School's list.

Two schools south of us in Charleston made U.S New & Report's lists, ranking quite a bit higher; The Citadel was ranked number one for public universities in the South, and the College of Charleston received the number four slot in the same category. 

The Citadel also placed at number eight for best value schools in the South, and the College of Charleston was pegged as the number six up-and-coming school in the South.

As for South Carolina's heavyweights, Clemson University ranked 68 on a national scale and the University of South Carolina ranked 115. Clemson also earned number 11 in the category of public and private universities, and USC was at number 55 in national public universities. 

The 2013 Best Colleges guidebook is slated to go on sale in print on September 18.
