Charleston Radio Stations, WEZL and Y102.5, Raise $192,000 to Benefit MUSC Children’s Hospital

Feb. 6, 2015 (Charleston, S.C.) MUSC Children's Hospital, one of the top children's hospitals in the country, partnered with two Lowcountry radio stations, 103.5 WEZL and Y102.5, for the seventh annual "Cares for Kids" Radiothon, sponsored by Hagemeyer North America, on January 29-30. With more than 40 hours of programming in two days, the sponsors, doctors, volunteers, patient families and donors helped raise an impressive $192,000 for the local children's hospital.

During the event, former patients and their families spoke on both radio stations about their experience at MUSC Children's Hospital. Listeners were encouraged to tune in and hear first-hand how the doctors, nurses, child life specialists and more have left a positive impact on the lives of many in the community and beyond.

From its origin in 2006, "Cares for Kids" Radiothon has become an integral part of MUSC Children's Hospital fundraising efforts. Last year alone, the community raised more than $230,000 to help support the Children's Hospital.
