Carolina Forest Library finally gets opening date

After a lengthy process, Horry County has finally committed to an opening date for the new library.

Conway, South Carolina –Horry County is pleased to announce that the new Horry County Memorial Library Carolina Forest Branch will open to the public on Tuesday, September 4, at 10 a.m. The operating hours for the new library will be Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The library will be closed on Sundays. A formal grand opening ceremony will be held at the end of September/early October. 

The $4 million Carolina Forest Library is 20,000 square foot and will host 24 computer stations for the public to access as well as a public meeting room, a conference room that can accommodate small groups, a young adult area, and a separate children’s area, which will include its own programming area featuring eight computer stations. The library will be handicap accessible and will feature an enlarged outdoor book return area.
