The North Myrtle Beach Chamber of Commerce Convention & Visitors Bureau was awarded a $130,950 tourism grant this week from the South Carolina Department of Parks Recreation and Tourism.

Forget some traditional ways of attracting visitors.  There won't be a shiny new brochure or billboard.  According to this WBTW report, some of the money is being used to bump up their email and online marketing campaigns and enhance their social media presence. 

Thirty-one grants like this one were award statewide and totaled $1.3 million.
