Holy matrimony in the Holy City. It seems like a match made ... Well, you get the idea. The point is, couples are clamoring to tie the knot here in town.

They say that they come here for the sun, according to a College of Charleston survey, but they might be coming for a new reason now: The Charleston Area CVB is giving them a chance to win the "ultimate" wedding package.

From The Post and Courier:

The $80,000 package is more than an afternoon at the altar. It includes rehearsal at Middleton Place; ceremony, reception, lodging and golf at Wild Dunes; a night in the presidential suite at the Mills House Hotel; and brunch for 50 guests aboard SpiritLine Cruises.

It's no surprise the folks at the CVB has accumulated a stack of 400 videos from betrothed out-of-towners.

...

"I think what we're looking for is someone who's enthusiastic about Charleston and who's just as enthusiastic about each other," (marketing director Louise) Ballard said.

If you're interested, the deadline to register is August 29, and the winner will be announced in October. As far as the wedding, it will take place next April.
