New Socastee shopping center includes Target (Update: Opening)

Update July 24, 2012: Southsiders rejoice! You now have a Target to call your very own.

Update May 1, 2012: With the July opening date for the area's newest Target store fast approaching there will be a three-day job fair held at the end of May at the Crown Reef Conference Center on Ocean Boulevard.

The three day event kicks off on Thursday, May 31, 2012 from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m. and continue Friday, June 1 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and conclude on Saturday, June 2 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Target is looking to fill positions as register operators, stockers, and department employees. 

However, you don't have to wait until the end of May to apply for a possition at the new Target location, job seekers can head to the Target store on Seaboard and fill out an application at their job kiosk or hop on over to Target.com and apply there.

Update January 24, 2012: Construction at Sayebrook is coming along and most everyone is happy to see the new store open. 

According to WBTW, the store is planning to be open in July 2012. Most of the surrounding retailers are excited for the new traffic the anchor store will generate for them. More details are here. Another store opening in the area that has generated some buzz is Coccadot's Cake Shop. They were on Food Network's Cupcake Wars last year.  Find out more here.


First Report (May 2011): Another mixed used shopping center, Sayebrook, is coming to the South strand area. The really good news for some locals is Palmetto Pointe Blvd will be extended to meet up with 544.
