A free cleaning to the dirtiest room in the Charleston area

Image by shower_small.jpg This is just the kind of grime that could win you a free house cleaning.

In this situation, having a dirty house is a good thing.

Castle Keepers, a residential cleaning company in Charleston, is hosting the "Clean My House!" contest and searching for the dirtiest room in the Lowcountry. The winner will get a free house cleaning and a Castle Keepers prize pack.

Locals can nominate a friend, family member, co-worker or anyone they think has the dirtiest room or spot in their house. Self-nominations are also welcome.

Entrants can submit a photo of a dirty room or area of their house, such as the bathroom sink, shower or a dirty refrigerator. You should also submit a brief nomination with their photo about why the person being nominated deserves a free house cleaning. E-mail nominations and photos to contest@castle-keepers.com.

Submission deadline is Monday, Aug. 31. Residents of Berkeley, Charleston, and Dorchester counties are eligible to enter and win.

"We have absolutely seen some dirty rooms in this business, so we thought it would be fun for the public to offer up their dirty rooms and turn it into a contest," says Janice Stewart, co-owner of Castle Keepers. "I don't know anyone who wouldn't want a free house cleaning, so here's the chance to turn that embarrassingly dirty room in your house into a benefit."
