Westbrook Brewing tasting room opens for samples and sales (update: pictures)

Update February 4, photos: Westbrook is a magnificently huge, slick operation, and the tasting room was completely packed with people.

The two brewery-exclusive brews, Citra Rye Pale Ale and Oatmeal Stout, were both outstanding. Here are some pictures from my visit on Thursday night.

Keep it coming, Edward!

Also, yesterday's Post and Courier had a piece about our local beer scene, including some Westbrook pics; check that out here.

First reporting: Following a successful statewide launch in late December, Mount Pleasant's Westbrook Brewing opened their tasting room doors to the public tonight.

Their tasting room page has gone live, revealing their regular hours:

  • Thursdays from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m
  • Fridays from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Per state laws, each of-age attendee can have four different samples on a given day, and purchase up to four growlers (cash only for now). The tap list will rotate, but the brewers promise to keep at least one very small (15-gallon), brewery-exclusive batch on at all times.  For opening week there will be two, a Citra Rye Pale Ale and an Oatmeal Stout, in addition to their current lineup.

Westbrook Brewing is located at 510 Ridge Road in Mount Pleasant.  Keep an eye on their tasting room page for tap list updates, our #beer topic page for scads of coverage, and this very article for some pics this weekend.
