Trio Solutions Inc. invites local nonprofit organizations to apply for the 14th annual CreateAthon, scheduled for September 15th.

CreateAthon is a collaborative, 24-hour creative marathon experience that changes the impact of nonprofits and the lives of creative thinkers. Trio Solutions, the official CreateAthonagency for the Charleston-metro area, will provide marketing services to Lowcountry nonprofit orgaizations on a pro-bono basis. The selected nonprofits have little or no marketing budgets.

CreateAthon was created by RIGGS advertising agency out of Columbia, South Carolina in 1997. Since the program’s expansion from a single market to an international effort in 2002, 73 agencies have joined the CreateAthon network, holding CreateAthon events in their cities. This effort has benefited more than 1,100 nonprofit organizations with approximately 2,500 projects valued at $11 million.

"CreateAthon gives our team a chance to give back to our community,” says Caitlin Ramsey, marketing intern for Trio Solutions. “Many nonprofits struggle for funding and money for marketing is often mistakenly the first to go. We’re honored to offer our time and services to help these organizations that make such a positive impact throughout the Lowcountry.”

The round-the-clock creative work will begin at 8 a.m. on Thursday and ends 24-hours later at 8 a.m. on Friday.

The deadline for CreateAthon 2011 applications is Friday, July 15.

Trio Solutions will select five organizations to receive CreateAthon 2011 services and will announce the winners on August 31st.
