Westbrook Brewing eyes September opening in Mount Pleasant

Westbrook Brewing, a brand spankin' new $2.1M brewery being built right now in Mount Pleasant, is targeting a September opening.
I had the pleasure of meeting Ed at Brewvival at February, and I can tell you he is dedicated to making the best craft beer he can and carving a niche for himself in the Charleston market and beyond. At least then he was focusing on producing Belgian-influenced ales, something you don't see brewed extensively in the Southeast, including one called Maximum Golden that would push our legal ABV limit to the max at 17.5%. Exciting stuff.
Check out The Post & Courier's profile of his operation. And you can scope out their blog to learn some of the nitty gritty.
Their new home is slated to be at 301 Ridge Road, just off 526.
