Celebrate the holidays at the Children’s Museum of the Lowcountry (CML) by giving back to the Lowcountry community!

Bring in a canned good, a toy or provide an underprivileged child with an educational CML art, language or science class!  The Museum will also be hosting Winter Wonderland Camps for fun, holiday enrichment during the school break!

Piggly Wiggly donated hundreds of canned goods to kick off our “LowCANtry Holiday” canned good drive and Stumphouse Architects created a cool rubik’s cube to display them in the CML Lobby.  Guests can help add to the structure by bringing in a canned good and enjoying $2 off one child’s admission.  CML Members who donate a can will be entered to win a free membership for 2011.  After the holidays, all the canned goods will be donated to our local Crisis Ministries, located at 573 Meeting Street, to help feed men, women and children in our Lowcountry community.  CML is also a donation station for the Salvation Army so bring in clothes, toys, and books the next time you stop by.

The CML Angel Tree is adorned with scholarships to enriching classes at CML for underprivileged children.  Classes include Messy Masters Art Series, Que Pasa?, Petit Francais  and Yoga Benefits Kids!  All scholarships are completely tax deductible.  The Angel Tree can be found in the CML Lobby and scholarships can be purchased at the CML Front Desk.

CML is also offering Winter Wonderland all day, half a day or multiple day camps for kids ages 3-9.  CML Campers enjoy multiple art projects designed for holiday gift giving, story times, sweet treat-making, sing-a-longs and play time in the Museum.   Camps run December 20-23 and December 27-30 from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.  To register, simply go online at www.exploreml.org, or contact Robin Berlinsky, Director of Education at 853.8962 x208 or robin@explorecml.org.
