Construction of the Bathsheba Bowens Park, located in the Harlem/Carrie Mae Johnson neighborhood of Myrtle beach is scheduled to be completed soon and with it comes a community art project aimed at getting kids involved. 

A $105,000 community development grant was awarded to creating the park in one of Myrtle Beach's harshest neighborhoods but the desire to have an art project that centered around community involvement almost didn't happen. There was no money in the Myrtle Beach Cultural Arts Committee budget for the project however with some creative thinking and use of the community development grant money the art project is a go.
