Take a bite out of Charleston's fine dining history

The Charleston City Paper has an educational and drool-worthy piece on the history of fine dining here in Charleston.
Throughout the piece you'll find detailed description of menu items and ambiance from some of the city's lost dining gems like the Women's Exchange, Henry's Café and Perdita's. It's also interesting to learn that many of the current dining spots like Hank's, Sugar Bakeshop and Carolina's all have menu items that pay homage to times gone by.
It's quite a long read, but well worth it if you're a history or food buff.
