Sweet things in small packages made a big difference

During the month of October, many local businesses were in the pink, helping raise awareness for breast cancer. Cupcake’s two locations in greater Charleston and its Columbia store got in on the act – in a big way, generating nearly $8,000 for the Susan G. Komen Foundation.

Cupcake created a special Cupcake for the Cure, and contributed $1 to the cause for every one of the 4,400 sold. Cupcake owner Kristin Kuhlke also printed up 300 cherries, to sell in store for $1 each; her initial stock of 300 ran out almost immediately. Cupcake sold more than 3, 000 cherries in October.

Besides regular and mini size cupcakes, Cupcake has t-shirts and aprons to purchase in all locations. The Mt. Pleasant and Columbia stores also provide charming locations for your next child’s birthday.
