The Moving Picture Boys of Nashville, Tennessee have been shooting a documentary on Shovels and Rope, the Charleston-based band comprised of the insanely talented Cary Ann Hearst and Michael Trent.

According to The Moving Picture Boys' description of the YouTube trailer, "'The Ballad of Shovels and Rope' is a new documentary featuring Michael Trent and Cary Ann Hearst following their band, as Shovels and Rope prepares a new album, 'O' Be Joyful,' to be released on 7/31/2012."

The husband and wife duo have been making music for years, but have been steadily gaining an international following after Hearst's song "Hells Bells" made it on to the end credits of HBO's True Blood. For a bit more on Hearst, check out the feature that the College of Charleston Magazine did on her in its most recent publication (she's an '01 grad).

Local is as local does, and when the two aren't on the road, they're back living it up on John's Island and playing free shows on the Pour House Deck.

Update September 30: Hot off the news that Shovels & Rope recently opened for Jack White - yes, the Jack White - in both Charlottesville and Boston, new footage shot by The Moving Picture Boys has been released.
