Cathedral of St. John the Baptist finally getting a bell tower - after 100 years (updated)

Update March 10: I know, you already had to endure it as yesterday's Photo of the Day, but I just spotted this segment that Live 5 News did -- it has some nice quotes and aerials of the new addition.

Update March 9: The Post and Courier has added a photo gallery of the completed construction; see it here.

First reporting: After the first cathedral was destroyed to fire in 1861, the second cathedral -- the Cathedral of Saint John the Baptist -- was built in 1907. But its bell tower would never be completed due to a lack of funds.

That is never until 2010, the tower is nearly done and this photo at The Post and Courier shows how they don't build them like they used to. See it here.

The cathedral is on Broad Street.
