Come see Charleston's hidden beach gem, Botany Bay

Sporting 4,630 acres of lovely natural beaches, marshes, woods, fields, and even a few ruins, a visit to Botany Bay Plantation - the Charleston area's newest public plantation - is really a must for anyone who loves nature in Charleston.

Read more stories on this subject in our Botany Bay Plantation topic page.Charlie Magazine took some time to make a visit. While the plantation has been talked about and photographed quite a bit, I really like their post as it doesn't get too lost in telling you how wonderful it is or why it's so historic, but rather gives you just enough background and some useful info about planning a visit.

Go take a read of their story here.

Oh and  while they were good enough to give directions, sadly a map is missing. I put one below and here's Google directions (I checked 'em and they seem good.) And if you're looking for more things to do while you're out that way, check out our Edisto topic page.
