Design winners in bold (and theoretical) downtown Charleston transit hub

The 1st place "Mind The Garden" design by Tonic Design of Raleigh, North Carolina.

The fictional premise is that downtown Charleston is looking to build a transit hub for light rail, bus riders, tourists, and cyclists and it will be located at the parking lot adjacent to the Charleston City Visitor Center on Meeting Street.

And the real half to this scenario is a design competition put on by Architecture for Humanity Charleston, "The HuB Design Competition," which asks architects to submit their vision.

Well the entereies are in and so are the winners.

The Post and Courier's Robert Behre has a a nice write-up about all the parts involved and the winners; take a read here.

But the paper only shares partial images of three designs, you can see all of them and get your brain tickled on the group's Facebook image gallery here.
