In video: Remembering Beaufort's Gold Eagle Tavern

The County Channel

The Gold Eagle Tavern traced its roots way back to 1795 and it's iconic rounded tower was added in the 1920s, but the restaurant spot that started in the 1930s would only last until the '60s, and shortly after that the building would meet its end.

But The County Channel has produced a short video to retell some of the building's history — check it out up top.

You can learn a bit more about the tavern on its page at the Beaufort County Library.
