Poster competition for Marine Corps Beaufort air show returns

Fans of the Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort Air Show will unfortunately have to wait until April 27, 2013, for the show to return — but those who like to design have something they can be excited about today.

The annual design contest is back and the show's organizers are looking for poster design submissions, and the first prize winner can take home $500.

Here's the rules, details and prizes:

Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) is announcing the 2013 MCAS Beaufort Air Show Poster Design Contest. The winning entry will be printed on posters to publicize the 2013 Show. The design may also be used on Official Programs, T-shirts, direct mail materials, and memorabilia*.

Judging:

Ten (10) finalists will be selected from all entries, and the winner will be chosen from the top three finalists. Winners will be notified by mail and announced on the Air Show website no later than October 31, 2012.

Awards:

Grand Prizes:

  • $500.
  • Ten (10) invitations to Pre-Show Social Event.
  • Ten (10) tickets to the Air Show Flight Deck Chalet.
  • Recognition in the Official Air Show Program.

1st Runner Up:

  • $200.
  • Six (6) tickets to the Air Show Observation Deck Chalet.

2nd Runner Up:

  • Six (6) tickets to the Air Show Observation Deck Chalet.

Entry Deadline: Monday, October 8, 2012.

Exhibit: The winning entries, along with the seven honorable mentions will be displayed in a prominent Beaufort location in the month of December (space permitting).

Eligibility: Open to all artists working in any media excluding 3-D. All military personnel, MCCS employees and their family members are also eligible to enter.

GUIDELINES

Theme: All entries must include the Blue Angels flight demonstration team, and the following:

  • "2013 MCAS Beaufort Air Show" logo.
  • "Show Dates (April 27-28, 2013)".
    The text "Blues Over Beaufort".

Accepted File Formats: Illustrator .eps or 300 dpi Photoshop .psd.
Dimensions: 11” wide by 17” high.
Submission: Multiple entries are permitted however, each entry must be accompanied by a completed entry form and signed agreement attached to the individual file. Submit via email to roedera@usmc-mccs.org if your file is 3mb or smaller. If your image is larger than 3mb or you are submitting multiple entries, please submit on a CD to:
