Now's your chance to earn a spot on the council.

Update: The filing period drew only one challenger.

On November 6, voters will head to the polls to elect a new president, local voters will also have the chance to elect Beaufort's mayor and two council seats.

Spots up for election are held by Mayor Billy Keyserling, and council members Mike McFee andĀ George O'Kelley Jr.

The Island Packet has some preliminary details; read their report here.

The mayor and council are elected for four year terms, with the other three council seats offset by two year, being up for election in 2014. All seats are at-large, meaning voters across the city will vote for the council seats.
