Columnist decries Haley's plan to cut the arts

The impassioned pleas to get Gov. Nikki Haley to back off of her stance to cut state funding of the arts began almost immediately after she closed out last week's State of the State speech.

Already talks of rallies up in Columbia have begun (more on that another time) and columnists from across the state have questioned, well, what is she thinking?

Possibly one of the most powerful columns comes from right here in our own backyard, as The Island Packet's David Lauderdale asks why in the world Haley would want to single S.C. out as the only state that doesn't support the arts.

I highly suggest you give Lauderdale's column a read here.
