USCB mens golf heads to Illinois for championship (2nd place after third round)

Update May 27: USCB are in second place going into the final round of the NAIA championship golf tournament, 13 strokes back of defending champions Oklahoma Christian University.

George Thacker continued his good play with two one-under-par rounds of 71, while Chris Lane followed up his opening round 72 with rounds of 71 and 73. Out-going senior Jon Pannone struggled in his third round, shooting a 5-over-par 77.

First reporting: The University of South Carolina Beaufort Men's golf team kicked off their participation in this year's NAIA National Championships this Tuesday, March 25, at the TPC at Deer Run in Illinois. The tournament is their final one of their year, and without doubt their most prestigious.

Outgoing seniors George Thacker and Chris Lane led the team after the first round with a pair of even-par 72's, while team captain Jon Pannone shot 73, and Luke McClellan shot 77. The team is in a tie for 6th place after the first round, 13 shots back of leaders Oklahoma Christian University.
